Moo Design
Moo Design is a creative collaboration between artist Angus McDonald and furniture maker John Madden. It is a partnership which aspires to design & produce beautifully finished, high quality furniture and sculptural objects of visual and functional integrity.
McDonald and Madden conceived Moo furniture originally as an aesthetically gestural homage to the bull. The artist and the maker worked together to replicate the form and nature of the bull in their first piece, the ‘Moo Carver’. The Moo range has now expanded to include more bull inspired pieces of furniture as well as other sculptural objects.
Moo Design creates its own pieces which are sold direct online and through galleries. It also creates pieces and installations on commission and often works on new projects with other designers & artists in collaboration.
Moo Design has exhibited widely, both in Australia and internationally; in crossover shows such as FORM in London, both 'Workshopped' and Design + Wood (as part of Sydney Design week), & at the Toronto Art Fair in 2009. In 2008 the Ferdinand Rocker was a major prizewinner in the Australian Studio Furniture Design awards.
